I recently went down on my bike after being hit by a minivan that was merging on the highway. I have highway bars on the front and these bags on the back. I laid my bike down and I can honestly say, the bag helped save my leg. The outside material is pretty chewed up but the box, latch and hinge are still in working order. No dents, just a scratch. I will not buy another bike without putting Viking bags on them.
