For the 2024 model year, Suzuki has announced two exciting additions to the V-Strom lineup: the V-Strom 800 and V-Strom 800 Touring. While Suzuki’s plan to add a street-oriented bike to its V-Strom lineup was revealed in June 2023, the company has not only confirmed the initial news but also revealed that a touring variant will also be added.
The V-Strom 800 is essentially a budget-friendly version of the V-Strom 800 DE and is powered by the same 776 cc DOHC parallel-twin engine. Weighing 492 pounds, the V-Strom 800 is also much lighter than the V-Strom 800 DE. Moreover, the bike features cast alloy wheels, 19-inch front wheel, a lower suspension, and lacks hand guards, an engine guard, and off-road capabilities, unlike the 800 DE. The upgrades of the motorcycle include Dunlop tubeless tires, radial-mount Nissin brakes, and standard ABS. It is expected that the base price of the 2024 V-Strom will start at $9,899.
On the other hand, the V-Strom 800 Touring is the same DE 800 platform but with enhanced long haul appeal. Featuring a 9.2 gallon top case and hand guards, the V-Strom is better suited for long distance trips compared to the V-Strom 800 but still lacks the off-road capabilities of DE 800. The base price of the V-Strom 800 Touring is expected to start at $10,499.
Both the 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800 and the 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800 Touring feature a six-speed transmission, 5.3 gallon fuel tank, and a fuel injection system for a smooth riding experience. Also, the wet weight of both bikes is about 492 lbs, ensuring high reliability and stability. The V-Strom 800 will be available in Metallic Matte Steel Green, while the V-Strom 800 touring will be available in Glass Sparkle Black.
