In an official recent press release, Harley Davidson has announced the milestone achievement of Kyle Wyman, a leading Harley factory team racer. Kyle Wyman has won the hearts and ruled the tracks at the Circuit of the Americas with his commendable maneuvers that led him to a historic win. With this impressive triumph, Wyman has set a new record in the history of MotoGP Mission King of the Baggers. He has the most points to his name, proudly holding the first position overall. Kyle Wyman is riding the race-ready 2024 Harley Road Glide motorcycle for this new racing season. He completed the race weekend by securing second place in Circuit of The Americas Race 1 and first place in Circuit of the Americas Race 2. His fellow racer, James Rispoli has managed to earn third most points by securing fourth place in Race 1 and third place in Race 2.
“I knew I had some pace on the Factory Harley Davidson Road Glide and methodically moved my way forward. I am so pumped to get this win for Harley Davidson. It was a really great race, I am looking forward to Road Atlanta.”
“I am so stoked to be on the podium again. There were so many people battling for positions, and it was so much work. I tried everything to hang on to third place for my guys who worked so hard this weekend. It is such a confidence boost for me.”
This year, the MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers is introduced with the Grand Prix of the Americas weekend. The selected race track for this weekend was the highly demanding and testing Circuit of the Americas, which has 20 sharp turns and a total length of approximately 3.4 miles. The unmatched American essence and spirit of this race track have added to the overall charm and excitement of the spectators and race enthusiasts.
In the initial six-circuit race, the Indian Motorcycle racer Tyler O’Hara was at the front with Kyle Wyman and James Rispoli quickly catching up with him. However, for the initial five rounds, Wyman didn’t have much luck and he was unable to outrace O’Hara. However, it seems that Kyle Wyman was saving all his magic for the final round, easily leaving behind Tyler O’Hara. In O’Hara’s place, Kyle Wyman had to contest with a new competitor Troy Herfoss, who was also representing Indian Motorcycle in the race. Troy Herfoss had covered the distance to the lead position from the sixth position. In a matter of mere minutes, Troy Herfoss asserted dominance on the race track with his daring maneuvers as he and Wyman entered turn 15. In this instant, Herfoss dipped beneath Wyman, making him lose ground and struggling to maintain control on the outside. Delivering an outstanding performance, Herfoss made it to the track’s end line, with Kyle Wyman joining him 0.295 seconds later. In this race, Tyler O’Hara came third and James Rispoli managed to bag the fourth position for his team. The fifth place was secured by Hayden Gillim; however, it was a close call between all five racers, each moving ahead with a difference minutely short of a second.
In the Circuit of the Americas Race 2, which was another six-round race of the King of the Baggers series, both Kyle Wyman and Troy Herfoss raced past Tyler O’Hara in the second round and created a noticeable divide between the entire group of racers. Now, Kyle Wyman was racing with Troy Herfoss for the first position, and behind them, James Rispoli and other contestants were battling to secure a place on the podium. Until the final round, Wyman trailed behind Herfoss and he finally applied brakes when entering turn 1. He then showcased excellent racing skills, achieving a new track milestone of 2:14.8 in the process. Kyle Wyman got the lead and first place in the position by 0.677 seconds.
Out of a total of 18 rounds, Kyle Wyman has contested in four rounds so far and is 95 points ahead of other racers participating in the championship. The second position is attained by Troy Herfoss who has collected 85 points. James Rispoli has earned 61 points and has a third overall place. Tyler O’Hara has 46 while Hayden Gillim has 45 points.
After the conclusion of the first race weekend of the 2024 King of the Baggers series, Harley Davidson factory race team representatives will make an appearance on April 19-21 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Braselton, Georgia for the second race weekend. This event will take place with the MotoAmerica Superbikes event.
For the King of the Baggers racing event, Harley Davidson’s all-American baggers powered by V-Twin engine technology are used. The Harley Road Glide, which is the most popular touring motorcycle by Harley Davidson, is equipped with Milwaukee-Eight ® 131 Performance Crate engine and is prepared for the race by Screamin’ Eagle®. These bikes also receive suspension upgrades, race tires, a competition-worthy exhaust system, and a streamlined, aerodynamic frame.
