Used it for a two-day trip, loved the separate shoe compartment, and it stayed secure the whole ride.
This Trident sissy bar backpack is more spacious than it looks. The storage space is more in real than what you see in the pictures. Now I can pack more luggage in this smart-looking backpack.
Figured I’d throw out a real world review on the Viking Bags Trident Sissy Bar Bag after breaking it in on the run up to Iowa this week.
I strapped it to the chop, loaded it with what I needed, pointed the front wheel north and put some real miles on it.
And I’m impressed.
The thing swallowed up a surprising amount of gear without looking like I strapped a suitcase to the back of the bike. It mounted solid to the sissy bar, stayed planted at highway speed and gave me easy access to everything when I stopped. Plenty of pockets and storage without having to dig through one giant compartment looking for something.
Most importantly, it just works.
That matters when you travel on a chopper. No tour pack. No hard bags. No creature comforts. Whatever you strap to that bike needs to earn its keep and stay where you put it.
The Trident did exactly that.
After a run to Iowa and back, highway miles, wind and everything else that comes with traveling on a chop, I’d absolutely run it again.
Good size. Solid construction. Easy to secure. Holds a ton of gear.
Nothing complicated. Nothing gimmicky.
Load it. Strap it. Ride.
That’s about as good of a review as I can give something.

Love this backpack, perfect for my daily commutes and plenty of room and pockets. Fits nice and snug with the foldable luggage sissy bar and bag does not move. 10/10
There was some confusion with a notice from ups and delivery. I reached out to viking and it was resolved and I received the bag the next day. The bag exceeded my expectations. It is large enough for all of my needed items for business plus my laptop. I love how it attaches to my sissy bar. I know that it is secure while I ride. The quality I was wondering about but it exceeded my expectations as well. We'll built with great zippers. I will in the future purchase saddle bags as well. You can't go wrong with viking bags.

So the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the straps don't tighten/stay as tight as I would like them. I have a very short sissy bar so I understand this bag is not necessarily meant for the equipment I have, but if the straps tightened down and stayed tight it wouldn't move around at all and it would have worked perfectly. I went to Home Depot and got rub twist ties for $6 and was able to make it work really well. If you have an actual sissy bar on your bike this bag would need nothing extra.
We buy these bags and give them out at our spring bike blessings. They are a big hit and are loved by all of our registrants. Will continue to utilize Viking bags and their great craftsmanship.
This is the sissy bar bag that I’ve been looking for. Perfect size to store a pair of pants, shorts, jacket or shoes plus my lunch and a few other things. Best feature for me is that it can slide it on my bar while the backpack straps get tucked in a slot and when I’m done riding just clip the straps at the bottom and use it as a backpack. Very convenient.
The bag itself is great and feels durable. Rode 250 miles with it today and it holds enough for a quick weekend trip. Only complaint is the three straps that attach to the sissy bar do not stay super tight. I mounted mine behind the sissy bar on the fender and it won’t go anywhere but the sinple sinch buckle straps do not stay tight.
I really like the design of this bag. Straps to the sissy bar and easily converts to a backpack for easy transport. I have leather luggage as well and heading into a hotel for the night after a long trip, they are awkward to carry. This bag solves this problem. I only gave this a 4 star because as the concept is there, the execution could use a bit. I say this as I am military and am used to pretty heavy duty straps, buckles and bags. I think the bag itself is sound and a great design. However the straps and buckles could have been a higher quality. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and look forward to many years of use.
