The Viking Bag Quick release saddlebag brackets are a must have. They make removing your saddlebags simple. Whether it's to ride without bags, clean your motorcycle and/or take your bags into your hotel while traveling. Best of all, you can chose the mounting location on your bags. I chose to mount the detachable brackets high on the bags. This allowed the bags to flow well with the lines of my rear fender. I did choose to drill 3 relief holes around the saddlebags latching mechanism retaining screws. To allow the saddlebags to sit flush with the brackets. 5 washers between the saddlebags and bracket would have work also just as well. I live a few miles on a Mojave desert road consisting of bumps, washboards and sudden jolts. The Viking bags and brackets have held up to this torturous abuse admirably. With absolutely no signs of wear. One of the single best investment I've made for my motorcycle. And now I'm outfitting a new motorcycle with the same.

My Suzuki Boulevard C 90 has worn saddlebags for as long as I can remember. Two years ago, I replaced the Suzuki leather bags with Viking Raven Lamellar Leather covered bags. I attached the bags to the removal saddlebag brackets I had on the bike. The installation was flawless. A few weeks ago, I heard and felt a thud from behind my seat during a local trip. To my surprise, there was a break on one of the brackets. An internet search revealed that the manufacturer no longer made saddlebag brackets for the C 90. I purchased the Viking Quick Release brackets with the hope that I would be able to attach the new brackets to the saddlebags. The docking posts were universal, and I was able to attach the brackets on the bags. I feel as if I have a higher quality of bracket on the bike, and I am most satisfied with my purchase. Thank you, Viking Bags. S. M. Johnson, Moraine, OH

Well the Quick Disconnect System in and of itself is a great design, good looking, durable piece of hardware. A must have for riders like myself who do not plan on keeping their bags on all the time. But with that said, I do have one minor problem with the product. And that is with the fitment onto the motorcycle. Maybe a bike issue or maybe a product issue, but the curvature of the back end of the M109r is not allowing the bracket to mount 100 percent properly even with the provided spacers and will have to be adjusted accordingly by the consumer. But nevertheless with a little force the system will release from the bike as intended, so definitely not a deal breaker. Would recommend.

These adjust real nice. They are solid and seem like they will last for many miles. They should come with chrome locking knobs, spacers, washers, and button head bolts... because the Allen head bolts to secure them stick out too much. With the bags off, the grey stainless and mixed finishes do not look good. Be sure to use plenty of blue Loctite to prevent the fasteners from vibrating loose.

Like some others have said, they look solid. The spacer requirement on the rear post is alot, but I am okay with that. The spa ers should be the same size as the post and if not chromed, be machined and not able to rust. I have not seen that as of yet, but it will drive me nuts if the do. I did have to do alot of dressing with my dremel in the slots to get them to seat on the posts properly and for the key locks to work at all when engaged. I also had to cut a couple of the bolts to length to prevent ruining the tire if it vottoms out. Buy the convenience of removable bags outweighs the few complaints that I have.

I have a bit over 500 miles so far with the installation. Right off the bat, the grooved docking post did not fit nor move smoothly in the channels in the bracket sliders. This was due to the black coating being too thick on the sliders and required sanding just to allow them to fit and for easy on-off removal. Some areas were not easily accessible to sand, but was required in order just to fit and slide into place. Once that was done, installation was fairly easy. Additionally, your fitment may vary, but the does seem to be a bit of free play when bags are fully seated on the docking posts (they jostle around a bit loosely). I’m not sure if that’s normal, but likely due to the minimal sanding needed. Not sure how that will hold up over time, but no current issues and don’t imagine it will become one either. Instructions were a bit lacking in detail and laid out clumsily. Keys on this unit insert fairly smoothly. I, too, needed some Youtube help for the install.
