Very nice bags, they seem solid, install was tricky need knowledge, tools and an extra set of hands for some parts, mounting brackets seems strong, I am going to buy new bolts, holes require 3/8 and brackets require 3/8 but the bolts they sent ARE NOT, pretty cheap bolts.. bags are not as wide as you would think, I was worried about that but they look sweet… relocating license plate wasn’t too bad either with the kit.
Pretty quick install. Done it to add some bags I bought but bags ended up not fitting regardless. But will definitely order me some new Viking bags made for my bike!
The instruction were missing and the video online didn't explain the process for removing the tail lights for my year of bike. After some fiddling with it I figured it out… either way now the bags fit and soon I’ll be adding hard bags from Viking bags
Look great when fitted. The wiring that comes with it aren't the best and there isn't a number plate light and this you have to either buy one or DIY one. Either way. It's definitely good. Only bought because saddlebags were hard mounted and they needed relocated.
It was fairly easy to install just tucking the wires so its not rubbing on tire was the biggest issue not alot of room for the wires not to rub on tire. The after look is very nice.
It was difficult to take off the stock wire harness and rear fender. Will need to extend the stock wire harness at least 5 inches to reach the connector. There is a total of 8 wires needing extension and 16 solder points or butt connectors. Takes some adjusting to fit the bracket between the fender and frame. The over all look is worth the install I highly recommended this upgrade.
2019 Sportster Roadster with OEM Chopped Fender. DK Customs Turning/Brake Lights. There is a gap but I think it looks unique and cool. Eagle Front Running/Turn Signals up front. My bike is coming together.
Works great. I didn't relocate the break lights but I could if I get saddle bags. I got the mount to relocate the plate primarily. TIP: to remove the stock plate mount, remove the whole fender. Just do it. You'll thank me. Use a cutting tool to cut the plate mount from the reflector mount without having to drill the rivets. I used a 3" cutting wheel to cut most of the way through and just snapped it off when it was thin. (A 2nd pair of hands would be helpful here.) Then I used a file to smooth the rough edge. The rear most bolts are a bit hard to align to fit the retaining plates but with a little muscle they will fit. (This was the most difficult part of the install.) The wiring hardware that comes with the kit works fine. I extended the license plate light by about 8 inches. I cut near the top end by the plug. Just don't cut too close to the plug.
This kit comes with everything you need basically. Personally I wouldn't but connect my wires, I would solder wire them and put shrink wrap around them. The instructions could be a little more in depth but it give you the gist of things.
Beautiful bags. They look great on the Sportster 48. The quality is definitely there. They close nice and tight and form nice into the side of the bike with the cutouts. Formed and shaped to streamline with the rear fender. The install by my dealer went well. Cost a bit but was worth it all. Very happy with the final look and the relocation of the plate and lights. Looks like a factory install.
I installed it on a 2020 Iron 1200. I wanted to move the side license to the normal rear fender location. I did not relocate the turn signals. It was fairly simple to do. The fit was good, but not perfect.
The product is fine. The installation video is a joke. They don't show, disconnecting the rear suspension, removing the rear fender, drilling out existing rivets, or cutting off the existing license plate mount. I would give the instructions and installation video 1 star.
Love the new look on my 2010 iron. It’s a solid, great quality kit. However… the instructions are absolutely useless. If you can solder or have a brain you don’t need them
