I bought this bag cause I wanted something kind of slim, but still roomy, to maintain the look I prefer. To me, the Fat Boy is supposed to be a raw, minimalist muscle bike, and this bag maintained that look perfectly. I did have to go get two replacement bolts to mount the bracket. The supplied bolts were way too long, i think cause they are meant for a sissy bar. The way the bracket is made, I think this could fit on pretty much any cruiser. Can be mounted on either side and took pics for reference. I preferred it on the left side, but I may buy another one just for long tours. Quality and price can't be beat! Very happy with this bag!
I used it on my 93 sportster. I removed the left side triangle cover. Replaced the rubber mounts with clips to attach and made a new simple bracket. The bag is a good size fit for the smaller bike.
I recently purchased the 5L Fatman Motorcycle Solo Bag from Viking Bags, and overall I’m very satisfied with it. Installation was relatively easy thanks to the included hardware—anyone with basic mechanical skills should have no issues mounting it.
The bag itself feels very high quality in both appearance and construction. The materials and stitching give it a durable, premium feel, and it complements the bike well without looking out of place.
So far, I believe it should last a very long time if properly maintained and taken care of. For the price and quality, it’s a solid addition for anyone looking for a compact, reliable solo bag
I’ve the bag. Going to adapt one to the other side now. The instruction have room for improvement. Extra hardware that was not used, maybe it was needed but most of it didn’t seam to work. It was easy enough though.
Shot this quick video after returning from my first actual ride with it. Bag didn't really wobble or shake at all on the ride which was kind of surprising. Sits very well on the bike. I am super happy with the quality and capacity of this bag. And as it is called, "Fatman", I find it aptly named and a perfect solo bag for a Fat Boy.
Very nice bag. Fit my 2020 Softail Slim perfectly. I did add a piece of aluminum flat bar to the inside of the bag between the top two mounting bolts to stiffen it a bit. Really improved the attachment.
The bag looks and feels good. Time will tell how well it holds up. Vut so far im very pleased. The bag comes with a bunch of hardware and not all of it is needed depending on the type of bike. I sorted it out but wish it had suggested set ups for different bikes. Just take more the guess work out.
I love this solo bag. It came in just a few days and was very easy to install. It seems very durable but time will tell. I can fit my soft lunchbox and gloves and a few other things in there perfectly.
This bag looks great! Slim profile and just the amount of storage I need. Waivered between swing-arm and this bag. Used stock Harley bolts and it fit on fine although the instructions were a bit limited so install took a bit more effort than I anticipated. Overall, a good purchase.
Bag just arrived. Very fast delivery and the bag looks awesome. I had a tailbag but didn't like the look of it on my Bob. From the pictures I have seen I love the look of the Solo bag on the Street Bob. It will have plenty of space for what I carry for my day trips. Thank you very much Viking Bags!
I love this bag. It was a little more difficult to put on then I thought it would be. I also had to go to the hardware store and get different bolts, to make it fit properly. But after that it was easy to put. It looks great on my bike though.
I love the look of the solo bag. I wanted a swing arm bag because I like the look, but wanted something a little bigger. This fit the bill!! I love it! Wasn't hard to install either.
The solo bag is the perfect size, as I wanted to keep my Fatboy’s slick appearance but be able to carry rain gear and my hand held CB. The smaller pocket can carry a wallet, smart phone and bike registration documents. Mounting was very easy, the bracket is ‘hinged’ to accommodate varying widths of mounting along the fender support. Spacers are included to permit mounting clearance from the swing arm, however the bolts included were either too long or too short to attach to the fender support so I made a trip to ACE Hardware for correct size bolts and an additional spacer. Design wise, a plastic insert, within the larger storage compartment would make the back of the bag more ‘rigid’ as I suspect the top of the bag will sag over time…
