I've owned several panniers of this type, but never were any of them this well made with the extras that come with these, not to mention the mounting hardware included. I'd give more stars if I could. Will be purchasing the matching top box in the future.

Received my Viking bags well before the promised shipping date. I was Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the bags themselves and the hardware. Installation went exactly as shown in the instructions. I was going to buy touratech bags But opted to take a chance on the Viking Apex bags. At the sale price of $779 they were 1/3 the price of the tour tech. I highly recommend these backs to anyone considering them. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The craftsmanship of these hard bags is amazing. Fit and finish is fantastic with the finished product all installed my only complaint is that when fitting the hardware on my bike and just hand tightening everything for a test fit several of the bolts did not want to start. After taking everything apart and trying to get the bolts to thread into the hardware without the weight of the mounting brackets they still wouldn't thread. The threads of the hardware seemed to be painted over and we really had to muscle the bolts in the essentially cut our own threads. Now that everything is installed and tightened down its all flush mounted and very sturdy with no vibrations. Overall, product and installation process I would say 9/10. I would buy again, but I will likely never need to as the product is rock solid.

Be careful about your mounting hardware. The four bolts they supplied were either not the right size, not the right pitch, or the threading was just terrible. I tried all four bolts that mounted the saddlebag hardware to the bike itself in all four holes, and every bolt would not fit. It felt like I was going to cross thread and destroy the threads on the bike. The good news is is that you can go to home Depot and Lowe's and buy bolts of the exact same size and length that will work perfectly. I haven't had a chance to take my bags on a ride, but they seem sturdy enough, it's just the installation they can almost be ruined by bad hardware

The quality of the cases is incredible, and the installation is excellent. They have been installed on my bike for years and are only removed when I put them off. I can easily remove the lid with aluminum handles and stainless steel hedges. The key lock is an additional feature that allows you to admire the side cases of the Viking bags.
