I bought this mainly because I wanted more organized storage on longer rides. The four compartments make a noticeable difference when you’re carrying small things like keys, sunglasses, cables, and gloves. I also like the fleece-lined quick-access pocket since I don’t have to worry about scratching my sunglasses. The expandable setup gives me some extra room when I need it.
I took this tank bag on a weekend trail ride and the 2L hydration pack ended up being my favorite part. I could keep drinking without having to stop and dig through the bag. The different compartments also made it easy to keep my wallet, phone, tools, and snacks from getting mixed together. The rain cover came in handy when we got caught in a heavy shower too.
The MOLLE webbing is a nice touch for adventure riding. I’ve added a couple of small pieces of gear up top, while the mesh pockets keep the stuff I use most within reach.
I absolutely love the Viking Bags 7L Apex ADV Touring Tank Bag. I’ve been using it on my Triumph Scrambler 400X and tested it thoroughly during a ride through Baja—it held up beautifully through rugged terrain and long hours on the road. The strap mount system is solid and easy to work with, and the included hydration pack came in clutch for staying cool and hydrated on the go. The compact size is perfect—it stays out of the way while still holding everything I need. I’m impressed enough that I’m picking up a second one for my Tiger 900 Rally Pro.
