This is the 3rd set of Viking Bags I've ordered, but I had to return the first 2 sets. For the first set (a quickmount pantheon), one of the bags fell off 80 miles from home while on the freeway. A pair of mounting bolts had sheared off. The bag exterior was destroyed, but the contents were protected. I had no way of carrying the bag home, so I transferred everything to the remaining bag and returned the remaining bag to Viking when I got home. I read online that the Viking hardware could be replaced with higher grade hardware, so I ordered a second set of the quickmount pantheons, but the hardware wouldn't snug up on this new set of bags, so I sent the unused bags back. I really loved the appearance, but was frustrated with the attachment issues. After a year of some cheap throw over bags, I finally bought the 3rd set of Viking pantheons, but I went with the fixed mount pantheon instead since these seem to have a better reputation in online forums. The kit arrived deficient in that it was missing some bolts. The kit came with multiple length bolts, presumably for different make/model of bikes, but it only came with 2 bolts of each size (2 bolts are required for EACH bag) and I was a few flat washers short as well. I was already planning on getting my own hardware anyway, so this wasn't a huge deal to me. I used 12.9 grade bolts to mount, and I also used some rubber fender washers in addition to the large metal fender washers to prevent metal-on-saddlebag rubbing and wear. Also used blue loctite. So far - so good. The bags look great, but my prior experiences have left me cautious. I haven't carried anything in the bags yet except lightweight hoody and gloves. No tools or repair kits. I'll introduce heavier items gradually until I've determined that the bag hardware is sufficiently robust to handle the weight.
