Indian Motorcycle has upgraded its previously introduced Scout Sixty models to make them eligible for the European and UK motorcycle markets.
The previous Scout Sixty didn’t meet the emission standards of European and UK markets. Therefore, it was stopped from selling.
However, Indian Motorcycle has brought the A2-compliant Indian Scout Sixty back with a Euro5+ 999 cc V-Twin engine. With these notable upgrades, the Indian Scout Sixty is back in the business in these markets.
“Our 2025 model year lineup offers new models and updates across the board to serve our ever-growing community of global riders. The new Scout Sixty lineup builds upon our iconic Scout platform and offers a more accessible lineup for riders of all skill levels.”
The modern Indian Scout Sixty is available in two different variants, including:
The Indian Scout Sixty Classic
The Indian Scout Sixty Bobber
Both have almost similar built with a few notable changes making all the difference.
Indian Scout Sixty Classic
The new Indian Scout Sixty Classic, as the name suggests, is a more classic-looking cruiser motorcycle with several chrome touches, pulled-back handlebars, and beefier front and rear fenders. The Scout Sixty Classic has 26 inches of seat height and weighs around 551 lbs.
The Indian Scout Sixty Classic costs $2,000 more than the Scout Sixty Bobber, with a price tag of $11,999. The Scout Sixty Classic Limited model is also available at a starting price of $12,699.
Indian Scout Sixty Bobber
On the other hand, the new Scout Sixty Bobber has a blacked-out finish, less pulled-back handlebars, and bobber-inspired small front and rear fenders. The front and rear wheels are also blacked out with a stylish five-spoke design.
The Indian Scout Sixty Bobber is slightly lower than the Scout Sixty Classic, with a seat height of 25.6 inches. It is also slightly lighter than the Scout Sixty Classic, weighing around 536 lbs.
The 2024 Indian Scout Sixty is a more affordable option with a price tag of $9,999. Meanwhile, if you want the more premium Scout Sixty Bobber Limited, it starts at $11,699.
The Scout Sixty Classic Limited and Scout Sixty Bobber differ from their base models in terms of features and technology. The Limited variants feature:
Traction Control
Cruise Control
USB Charging Port
Ride Modes:
Standard
Sport
Tour
Both the Indian Scout Sixty Classic and Bobber feature a 999 cc liquid-cooled, V-Twin Euro5+ engine capable of delivering a peak torque of 85 hp at 8,500 rpm and a torque of 87.04 Nm at 6,200 rpm.
To make it A2 License-Compliant, the Indian Scout Sixty can be tuned to limit the power figures to 47 bhp.
Considering the power figures, the Indian Scout Sixty is not ideally designed for high-speed performance. The 999 cc V-Twin A2-Compliant engine suits all riders, including beginners, intermediate, and experienced. All riders can ride this bike with different skill levels.
The Indian Scout Sixty is an easy-to-ride motorcycle and is more accessible for anyone who wants a modern American bike. Though it is the most affordable offering in the Indian lineup, the company still hasn’t compromised on the build quality and look.
The Indian Scout Sixty may not be the most powerful and premium motorbike. However, these entry-level bikes are the flagship models, as they are widely used by riders who want to enter the Indian Motorcycle community.
The Indian Scout has managed to attract more new buyers to the brand. According to an estimate, almost 90% of the Scout buyers are riding an Indian motorcycle for the first time.
This shows that the strategy has worked for the American manufacturer. Producing affordable motorcycles easily accessible to riders with all skill levels can help the brand grow more globally.
Now, with the Euro5+ engine upgrade and A2 compliance, the Indian Scout Sixty will remain a global trademark of Indian Motorcycles.
