4. What’s New in the 2024 Model?

The Triumph Trident 660 is almost unchanged in 2024 except for a few additional paint job options and styling changes. The front fender, radiator cover, and tail section have also received new graphics to make the overall bike look vibrant.

5. Design & Look

As described in the previous section, the engineers at Triumph have done their best to keep the bike simple and basic while not compromising on the modern elements and sportier stance. It boasts both the aggressive-style naked bike character and a retro-modern build. The front fender is a small piece to keep the front end light for extreme maneuverability. If you remove the tires and wheels from this bike, the rest of the motorcycle is excessively compact and small with no extra parts.

There is a small fuel tank perfectly integrated with this motorcycle’s frame to make sure it not only fits perfectly but also takes less space. The gas tank is slightly broader from its shoulder and becomes slimmer from the rear end. The sides of the gas tank also have functional patches that are pressed inside to ensure the rider fits his/her legs tightly while riding to ensure better grip, control, and stability.

The single-piece rider and passenger seat is also wide at the passenger end and becomes narrower from where it blends with the gas tank. The Triumph Trident 660 features a small blacked-out headlight with a single round-shaped TFT instrument display giving it a retro vibe. The rear end of this bike is also made quite compact with no additional parts and extension to the frame due to which the tail light, indicators, and license plate bracket assembly is mounted to the swingarm. The Triumph Trident 660 also features stylish five-spoke cast aluminum wheels for a more modern look. The three-into-one exhaust system is also a very stylish piece of equipment with the muffler originating at the ride side.

6. The 660 cc Inline-Triple Performance

The Triumph Trident 660 is one of the gems of a bike in the Triumph lineup and overall middleweight naked bike category as it suits almost all types of riders with different riding skill levels. The 660 cc inline triple engine may not excite you when it comes to power figures, but if you get the chance to ride this bike, it can make you fall in love with it doesn’t matter if you are a novice or an experienced rider. It has a lot to offer in terms of capabilities, performance, and responsiveness.

The 660 cc engine produces a respectable 81 hp of horsepower at 10,250 rpm and a 47 lb-ft of torque at 6,250 rpm which makes this lightweight naked bike a monster on paved roads thanks to its responsiveness and agility. The Triumph Trident 660 generates a notable low-end torque and thrilling top-end horsepower to make sure you never get bored while riding this masterpiece. This bike creates a perfect balance in terms of design, performance, and equipment. The remarkable top-end power output and thrilling throttle response, together with the sports-style smooth tire rubber, ensure a thrilling and quick performance.

If you are a novice rider, this little beast can prove to be a slightly more powerful bike than what you can handle. Make sure you possess enough road sense and riding know-how before you decide to open the throttle to the maximum. For trained and experienced riders, the Triumph Trident 660 is more fun due to its highly versatile and agile nature. It offers a great advantage to skilled riders to take full control of this bike to showcase their advanced riding skills.

7. Tech Package

The Triumph Trident 660 may not be fully laced with high-tech features and rider aids but it carries a moderate tech package to make sure riders not only enjoy, they also feel safe while riding this bike. This bike features a ride-by-wire throttle engine management system and a switchable throttle control system to ensure the rider has superior control over this bike. The RbW and traction control, together with the standard ABS also allow riders to choose between two riding modes, including road and rain.

The Triumph Trident 660 also has LED lights and self-canceling turn signals. To stay updated on the riding conditions and motorcycle information, there is a round-shaped multi-function TFT screen display.

The Triumph Trident 660 also makes use of a multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection system which ensures a low carbon dioxide emission of 107 g/km and a notable fuel economy of 51 mpg. The slipper & assist clutch also make sure that riders do not need to be distracted when going smoothly on highways and open roads due to gear shifting. The slipper & assist function also allows riders to avoid stalling during slow-speed maneuvers and gear shifts.

8. Handling & Maneuverability

The Triumph Trident 660 is designed to possess the best handling and maneuverability characteristics in the middleweight naked bike category and it does a great job in this department. What makes it a true agile performer with tremendous handling and maneuvering command on the road is its lightweight profile, compact build, precise chassis design, and accessible average seat height in the middleweight category.

It is extremely sportier with a slim overall bike profile, road-oriented tires, and aggressive ergonomics which assist riders in handling and maneuvering this bike comfortably on difficult-looking curves while maintaining the speed. The suspension wheel travel is also adequate to support versatile rides.

9. Stopping Power

There is a 310 mm dual-disc brake upfront with Nissin dual calipers and a single 255 mm disc at the rear with a Nissin single-piston caliper, providing a decent-level stopping power. The standard ABS feature makes sure that new riders do not find it difficult to stop the bike at moderate speeds and makes rides safer.

10. Comfort and Approachability

Being a sportier naked bike with tremendous agility and responsiveness, the Triumph Trident 660 is not designed for comfortable long-haul rides. To ensure quick acceleration and responsiveness while opening the throttle, this bike offers an aggressive riding style with compact legroom. However, a rider with even a 5.7-inch height can comfortably stop at a traffic signal with both his feet on the ground.

11. Value for the Money

The Triumph Trident 660 offers great value for the money as it is available at a base price of $8,595 and offers numerous great features and characteristics. You may not find a more good-looking and better-performing middleweight naked bike in the market at such an affordable price.
