The additional plastic reinforced lid and body combined with a metal frame reduce sagging so that your bag retains its shape longer. The bag provides 1037 cubic inches storage area which is perfect for short rides. The bag is key-lockable and comes viking Harley 1200 Custom bags brand keys for both bags to improve security when you leave your bike in the parking lot for a long period of time. This hard mount bag will be installed permanently on your bike for convenience designed specifically for Harley Sporster. We included our free and updated Harley Sportster metal mountings and bolts for headache free installation, and also to improve the safety and durability of our bags. The hardware kit itself is worth $149. I had to make a

I had to make a couple parts to fit a 1996 Sportster. the bags are great and apart from a bit of machine work with a bench grinder and some 3/8 rod connectors they work well 1996 to 1999 have a different shock mount.

The bags are great. Well made, solid so far. I have a 1997 Sportster 1200 and I had to have my rear shock mounts machined in order to use them. Viking said they‚Äôd refund me for the cost of the machine shop, so at least they‚Äôre standing behind it. I used much larger washers in the bags because the ones included were barely larger than the clamp screws. Overall I‚Äôm happy‚Ä¶now‚Ä¶but it did take a bunch of legwork that would be easy to replicate and include for a company of this stature. Again, I‚Äôm happy now and look forward to using them. Solid construction, locks are great, they‚Äôre very securely mounted. They stick out some but that‚Äôs ok
