4 Southern California Roads To Take Your Cruiser On

Lately in Socal, it’s been pretty much peak riding season. Peak riding season means that everyone takes their bike out to be seen and for casual rides. This makes for great bike spotting. Whether you’re just trying to spectate and check out local bikes, or participate in some scenic rides, We’ve decided to put together a list of our favorite roads to ride in Southern California.

4 Southern California Roads To Take Your Cruiser On

Southern California is perfectly located close enough to the ocean, and inland enough for mountain rides. Only because of this central location, its one of the nations most visited locations for motorcycle riding and experience. There are countless rental companies that offer a huge array of different motorcycles for you to choose from. I’ve ever gone as far as reading stories about people flying in and rental motorcycles to take the Pacific Coast Highway and arranging to drop off the bike in San Francisco. Pretty much, if there’s a will, theres definitely a way.

We’ll start off the list with our favorite –

Azuza Canyon road – One of the easiest and more enjoyable rides on this short list. It’s located right off the 210 freeway outside Azuza,CA. This road typically doesn’t have too much traffic like other of the more famous and well known roads. On this road, you’re riding right on the side of the mountain, you get beautiful mountain side views as well as a glimpse of the local reservoir. The difficulty level of this is much more casual compared to the nearby Glendora Mountain Road with it’s dangerous reputation.

Pacific Coast Highway – Always one of the favorites on everyones list, and it’s easy to see why. You get to enjoy the beautiful California Coast. Traffic can get bad on weekends so you definitely want to try and avoid it during peak travel times. Theres always plenty to do right off the highway as well.

Ortega Highway – One of the more lesser known roads in southern California. It’s known for it’s beautiful scenery that’ll bring you out above Lake Elsinore. Be sure to pack some lunch, because you get to overlook the lake and enjoy a wonderful view. This is the most difficult of the roads with more twists and turns that need to be taken with some caution and care. It’s labeled one of Southern Californias bloodiest roads, and with fair reason.

Las Flores Canyon Rd – Located in Malibu, and affectionately known as Piuma Canyon as well ( I want to keep this our little secret ). This road is 17 miles long and by far the most scenic. You get glimpses of the ocean while riding deeper into the mountain taking plenty of turns and enjoy elevation drops. This road is the most difficult of all and will require all your attention. There is some traffic sometimes, but it’s our personal favorite on this list.
