Victory Boardwalk Motorcycle Saddlebag Guide
You don’t even have to spend more than a few seconds looking at the Victory Boardwalk to recognize that the machine is built to be the perfect beach cruiser. Wide handlebars, coupled with flat tires on chrome laced rims scream leisure! Taking it out on a ride alongside its natural habitat, the beach, you’re bound to get a ton of admiring and, on occasion, envious, looks from bystanders. Announced in 2013, the Victory Boardwalk embodies the hang-free beach lifestyle perfectly. The amount of power with the Boardwalk is certainly nothing to laugh at, with a huge 106 cubic inch engine; but the true highlight of the machine is its leisurely ride. For extended tours, one can be assured of being able to travel comfortably with ease on the luxuriously designed seating and easy-access, albeit wide, handlebars.
The Victory Boardwalk, unlike a few other cruisers, is made to be driven on long stretches and staying on the saddle for hours on end. The low seating is quite comfy and allows one to be in a state of rest while driving. All you need to set off on a tour are some top-notch accessories for the magnificent whale of a machine. On cruisers in particular, saddlebags can prove to be a great touring accessory. Upscale saddlebags provide a classic flair to the Boardwalk, along with the utility that comes along with a bag. People often tend to go for saddlebags just for the style they provide, with a full complement of studs and buckles to further enhance the styling scheme. Of course, some simply want high grade bags for a reliable storage options on every tour they take on their Victory Boardwalk. At Viking Bags, we offer a wide range of saddlebags for every need and situation; visit our website to take a look and pick out just the bag you want.
Deciding on what saddlebag to get for your Boardwalk is the next step. You need to know what you want before you go on about making a definitive choice. For most, all saddlebags are apparently the same thing; but if you want just the right saddlebag, we can help by providing some effective guidelines. Take a look at the four major factors that should be kept in mind before you make a purchase decision:
A saddlebag is also a fashion accessory. One needs to consider styling options like studs and chrome buckles when choosing a bag. Choose from our wide variety of styling options according to preference.
When considering a road trip, you generally need to take some essential belongings with you. Saddlebags can be a great hassle-free option for this purpose. Just keep in mind the amount of stuff your chosen bag can house.
With different varieties of security options available with our bags, one needs to have no fear of their saddlebags getting ransacked. Even padlocking option is available now if you so desire!
Whether you want your chosen bags to be permanently mounted, or are seeking temporary mounting options for easy detachment; we have what you need.
Bags come in a variety of different styles. Most riders will want the bags that will match best with their bike. The majority of our bags come in two styles, plain or studded. If your bike already has studs, you can keep the theme going by adding a pair of Studded Saddlebags. All Viking Bags studs are rust proof, polished, and stainless steel. Non-studded or Plain bags are very clean themselves and can keep the clean look throughout.
Plain VS. Studded
Considered a fashion accessory by many, choosing a saddlebag for a machine like the Boardwalk is no simple matter. One must also considered just the right styling options if appearance matters at all. Featuring a huge variety of differently styled bags in our lineup; be sure to apply the right filters on our website to find a bag with the exact styling specifications that you require.
Studs are a common styling design people go for. The studs attached on our bags are rust-free and are made of polished stainless steel, if you plan on going for the studded bags. If the flashiness of studs isn’t for you, our collection of plain black bags with simple chrome buckles might be what you’re looking for.
BUCKLE VS. NO BUCKLE
In the plain bag variety, our lineup can be further classified into buckle and non-buckle bags. For those who don’t want the studs but still prefer the elegance that chrome buckles provide, a number of bags in varying capacities are available. You might not even want the chrome buckles though, preferring completely plain bags over all else; with our Warrior and Primabags for the Victory Boardwalk you can get just that.
STANDARD BAGS VS. SHOCK CUT OUT BAGS
Standard bags are typically mounted behind the shock but in front of the turn signal. In some cases, larger bags will extend back of the turn signal, requiring that the signal be relocated. However, you can sometimes get around this by using our quick disconnect system, which will push the bag further away from the body of the bike, usually far enough to accommodate the shocks.
Shock Cut-Out Bags, by comparison, have a rounded mold on the front corner of the bag that shapes the bag to accommodate the shock while resting closer to the bike. This lets you mount the bags very close to the body of the bike, giving a clean –lined look and a custom appearance.
You’ll pay a little more and there will be some loss of bag capacity, but this feature is available in several large bag styles and sizes so space shouldn’t be an issue. If you can’t get a the bag size and style you want on the back of your bike without it, or you like that neat, custom look, Shock Cut-Out bags could be for you.
Hard VS. Soft
We also offer bags that are completely blacked out without any buckle. Take a look at our Warrior and Spear bags. They are two options for bags that have no shiny buckles or studs.
Storage room matters when you’re choosing a saddlebag for your Boardwalk. A bag hanging by the side of such a machine needs to be stylish obviously, but it also needs to have enough storage space to be able to house all your necessary belongings that you usually need to carry on road trips. Our collection of saddlebags at Viking Bags contains bags in varying sizes; ranging from the extra small ones, to huge bags that even have a separate compartment attached, like the Cruise Extra series of bags for the Victory Boardwalk.
Security is always a major concern where your personal belongings are concerned. We understand the need of being assured of the safety of your belongings and therefore, we offer a range of security options at Viking Bags. With our native lock-and-key option on the current lineup of bags, one has nothing to worry about as far as safety and security of their belongings is concerned. For increased security of your bags and the stuff they contain, try our temporary mounting options using which you can simply detach the bags and take them off at will.
1- Quick Disconnect System (QDS)
2- Hard Mount Kit
3- Throw Over Kit
There used to be a time when hard mount options were the only ones available for saddlebags on cruisers; not anymore though! At Viking Bags, we offer several temporary mounting options, in addition to the time-tested hard mount option. Among the temporary mounts, our Quick Disconnect System (QDS) stands out due to its unique mechanism. Consisting of a set of bolts that can be easily screwed and then unscrewed back again, the mount is easy and fast to setup on your machine. If you intend to detach your bags for any reason; be it for security or just to clean the areas that are hidden by the bags, simply unlock the QDS and you are free to do so.
True and tested with time, hard mounting options for bags have been around since forever due to the increased stability they offer. Our Hard Mount Kit is offered as the standard mounting option with all bag purchases, and remains the most commonly used mounting option. If you’re not one to detach the bags from your Boardwalk every time you need to leave the machine for some time, our Hard Mount Kit would be the ideal mounting solution for you. You can always unscrew the bolts on either side of the mount to detach the bags if need be though.
Complementing the hang-free lifestyle that the Victory Boardwalk is designed for, our throw-over kit is exactly what the name suggests: a mounting option that can simply be thrown over to hang the bags by the sides. The simple yoke is attached under the seat of the machine, and that’s pretty much all there is to attaching the mount. Keep in mind though, the frame of the throw-over is pretty light and thus cannot sustain too much weight. So if ease-of-access is what you want and can live with smaller bags, the throw-over kit would be the best mounting option for you.
