36L - Raven Extra Large Honda VTX 1300 S Shock Cut-out Leather Motorcycle Saddlebags

These are universal bags that claim to fit a variety of motorcycles. I purchased them for a 2006 Honda VTX 1300S, which was advertised as a fit by Viking. I experienced two fitment issues. First, the angle of the shock cutout doesn't match the angle of the shock, so if I align the cutout with the shock, the bags sit crooked, not level. Second, the included mounting hardware isn't compatible with my motorcycle. I could have overcome this by purchasing bolts that would **** into the threaded holes on the bike, but I opted to mount the bags to the brackets for my existing bags and bypass the included mounting hardware altogether. I also opted to mount the bags level, so the shock cutout doesn't follow the shock and part of the shock is exposed, but it's satisfactory.

Aside from the fitment issues, these bags are fantastic! They are quite large, sturdy, and I love that I can lock them. I also removed the Velcro strips that hold the lids in place. I found it much too difficult to get them open with the Velcro. The three buckles and the locking mechanism are enough for me. After working through those issues, I am very happy with these bags. I hope they last a long time.
