Are 3% of bikers still fighting for freedom?

The term three percenters originated from the American Revolution. It is claimed that only 3% of the total population of thirteen British colonies in North America fought against the British.

1. What do three percenters stand for?

The three-percenters refer to an American patriot movement. It pledges resistance against the infringement of the constitution of US by the United States government. The main purpose of this movement is to protect the constitutional rights of the people of US. The three-percenters today refer to true patriots fighting for the basic freedom rights of the common people. They maintain that they have God-given rights to property and liberty. It may sound like a very small number, but it is always unwise to underestimate the power of committed minorities to bring about a change in the world.

2. Popularity of the term three percenters

This movement has grown momentum ever since President Barak Obama came to the Oval Office but the term three percenter can be used by anyone. There are many three percenter organizations including regional, state, and local leadership structures that coordinate decision-making and actions.

3. Freedom fight of 3% bikers

The motorcycle is not just a means of transportation. It represents the freedom – a life that does not consort with rules, a life that breaks away from the norms of the society. In short, it refers to a culture where one lives his life by the road’s unwritten laws. Biker gangs are a part of American culture, and they have been around for as long as motorcycle itself.

There are almost 500 large biker gangs across the US and about 2,500 if you add all the smaller ones as well- all with multiple chapters. According to an estimate, almost 44,000 Americans belong to different outlaw biker gangs. Most of these gangs just want to enjoy the freedom and pleasure of riding a motorcycle. They have been fighting bans and restrictions for more than fifty years. The authorities have been trying to hamper the popularity of biker gangs by introducing many laws such as 55 miles per hour speed limit and the mandatory helmet law for motorcyclists. These laws brought together the motorcyclists from all over the country to protest against the helmet law. They complain that helmets make it harder for them to see and hear. Furthermore, they become too hot to wear in the summers. Some bikers also argue that authorities have manipulated statistics to prove that wearing helmets can save lives.

4. Main focus of 3% bikers

The main goal of 3% of bikers is to prepare and petition against laws that undermine their freedom. They strive to provide guidance and framework to bikers to bring about a positive change. They plan to leverage incorporated laws and fail-safes to ensure their survival. All members work to achieve these goals. These bikers are bonded together with their common attraction to life. This bond is stronger than blood and allows them to respect each other.

The word freedom epitomes the biker lifestyle-freedom from the common social norms of the society, freedom from laws and freedom from social and legal obligations.
