I have now had 3 sets of Viking saddlebags. (2 of the Warrior leather bags and 1 set of the Lamellar Slanted Hard Bags)
The 2 leather sets were great for my smaller Suzuki Intruder and Marauder 800cc's. When I got my Honda VTX 1300 I stuck with the Viking brand and purchased a set of the Slanted Hard bags.
Easy to mount and looked incredible with the fender curves! Loved how the lids opened forward and knowing that gear was safely secured with locks.
Unfortunately, the VTX was totalled in an accident ONLY because the insurance adjusters found scratches on the passenger footpegs. (Yep!) My accident trashed everything cosmetic...except these bags! They did take a beating but DID NOT SMASH OR BREAK! (Can't say the same for myself!) They were scratched to hell but because of these bags my engine suffered absolutely NO damage - not even a scratch on the chrome! These bags proved strong and durable, even after sliding on 200 feet of pavement before flipping on the other side. I would be so bold to say that had I kept these bags I believe a pro repair shop could have sanded and repainted and no one would know the difference.
During my summer trips other friends noticed and some even bought their own set. When a company does well I believe a good review is merited.
*One small concern was a few weeks in I noticed some tiny bubbles forming in the paint. Could be attributed to the Florida sun and heat but not noticable unless right up on them.
