5 Vintage Motorcycles 4 Sale

5 Vintage Motorcycles 4 Sale

RM Auctions has an auction listed for March 8 th where they will be selling 5 beautiful vintage motorcycles amongst dozens of classic cars. 4 of the motorcycles are Indian and one of them is an electric Harley-Davidson prototype. If you know anything about motorcycles, you know that Harley-Davidson and Indian are as American as apple pie and have become a staple in the motorcycle industry, albeit, Harley-Davidson is taking a much bigger piece of said pie.

These five motorcycles are in high demand by collectors worldwide and are sure to attract record bids.

First we have the 1909 Indian 5-HP Light Twin: Engine no. 20A352 which is estimated to bring in somewhere between $125,000 and $150,000.

The second Indian model is the 1911 Indian 4-HP Single: Engine no. 42C491 which is only estimated to bring a bid somewhere in the region of $55,000 to $75,000.

Third on the Indian list is the 1911 Indian 4-HP Single Board Track Racer: Engine no. 40C169. This particular model is estimated to bring in a bid between $75,000 and $100,000.

The fourth of the Indian models is arguable going to also be the most expensive one. The 1914 Indian “Hendee Special” 7- HP Twin: Engine no. 83F037 is expected to bring in a bid between $140,000 and $160,000.

One can agree that the estimated bids experts are saying these motorcycles will bring are high and ultimately subjective but no one can argue that these are beautiful motorcycles. The last motorcycle scheduled to be auctioned off on March 8 th is the Harley-Davidson 1978 Transitron Mk II Electric Prototype. Although no reserve is actually set for the Harley it wouldn’t be unfathomable to see bids in the 5-figure range.

Motorcycles come and go but these are five motorcycles that have stood the test of time. I wonder how many of today’s motorcycles will stand the test of time?
